The redecoration was part of a refurbishment to permit the creation of the Carlton School of Food which opened in spring 2014.
The scope of works extended to 14 rooms including the kitchen, cold store and food preparation areas, corridors, specialist works to doors in the Main Hall and Card Room, and various works to the Picture Gallery in the State Room.
The specification called for surface preparation and application of undercoat, gloss, emulsion and acrylic eggshell supplied by PPG Johnstones, and also some materials procured by the client from the Little Greene Paint Company of Manchester. In certain areas a barrier coat was applied over areas previously treated with distemper and lime wash.
The works were completed during March and April 2014 by 2 CSCS accredited, time-served decorators.
