Construction

Following several high profile blast cleaning and painting projects related to the Olympic Games, including the ArcelorMittal Orbit Spiral Staircase and Observation Tower, a stunning centrepiece for the Games, and the Emirates Air Line Thames Cable Car, our 3 factories are now finding new projects to fill our huge production facilities, increased this year by the purchase of the final 2 bays at the Foxhills site in Scunthorpe.

Key clients continue to be SH Structures with projects as diverse as the Macallan Distillery and the Westonbirt Walkway, Steelridge with a project for Rolls Royce and Marshall Stairs with a number of projects including a Next store in Doncaster and the LSE St Clements building.  Historically over 40% of our Shop Applied coatings business is destined for the construction sector for a variety of local and national clients and we welcome several new clients to our order book, including Bourne Steel (Victoria and Albert Museum), BSB Structural (NDA Archive Facility in Wick) and Costain (Bredbury Waste Processing site) which is a joint endeavour with our on-site team.

The Site Applied business carries out contracts for a wide variety of blue chip clients who require a painting contractor who not only has all the industry accreditations relating to quality, environmental and Health & Safety, but who also has a sufficiently large and well trained workforce, supported and led by experienced management to ensure completion of projects on time and within budget .  We have the capability to provide ICATS accredited employees for industrial painting projects and CSCS accredited decorators for more refined projects.  These complementary skills lead to our approved status with well respected businesses such as Volker Fitzpatrick, Kier, Carillion and Balfour Beatty.

Recent and current projects include Ministry of Defence projects for Carillion Amey, the Woolwich Ferry crossing for Amco, various projects for Simons and a harbour boat crane for Scarborough Borough Council.
