Whilst we often work as a subcontractor on Highway projects we have undertaken the role of Principal Contractor on numerous occasions, having worked directly for Gloucestershire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire County Councils and Shepway District Council amongst others.
We are able to integrate the scaffolding, encapsulation, steel and concrete repairs packages into our tender prices to facilitate client contract management. We do this by use of our own Approved Subcontractor listings, working with a select few companies who both appreciate our methods of working and who can match our own exacting standards of quality and reliability. Our presence on Highways contracts extends geographically to cover the whole of the UK.
Recent contracts have been undertaken for Henry Boot on several highways bridge projects for Sheffield Highways, including Ball Street bridge and Abyssinia bridge. We have worked for several Main Contractors including Cimolai at Temple Quay in Bristol and Interserve on the A1 at Alnwick. New clients in this sector include Morgan Sindall (2 projects in Cumbria and near Crewe), North Midland Construction and CG Godfrey. HS Carsteel have also awarded our on-site business 2 contracts including the Tame Valley viaduct on the A38 Aston Expressway. This latter award followed close collabortion between HS Carlsteel and our off-site facilities.
Our Shop Applied coatings factories are currently shot blasting and painting gantries and bridge structures for the UK motorway network for a variety of clients, including:
- Briton Fabrications - A38 Merafield Road bridge and gantries for M1 Junctions 32-35
- CTS Bridges - A391 Carluddon Road bridge
