Health and Safety

Health and Safety is of paramount importance to the Tighe Group of Companies and forms the basis of the Group’s commitment to a safe working environment, together with our continuous goal of achieving zero accidents and incidents.

Significant Group resources are made available annually to fund improvements in training and competency so as to ensure that we remain not only at the forefront of our industry, but also that our staff and employees enjoy the safest working conditions we can provide.

We continue to benefit from our OHSAS 18001 accreditation and our other accreditations with CHAS and Safecontractor remain of high importance.  We maintain membership of health and safety organisations including RoSPA and the British Safety County at national level and the North Lincs Health & Safety Group and Concom at regional level.

At the beginning of 2014 our commitment to Health & Safety was underlined with the appointment of Mr Sam Panter, Dip Nebosh, Grad IOSH to the role of H&S Director, and the employment of a further member of staff to our in-house H&S Department.

Obtaining external recognition for our efforts to maintain and improve our health and safety performance is rewarding and confirms our position as a responsible employer.  In this regard, our receipt of the following Occupational Health and Safety Awards is both welcome and proves our commitment:

  • 2013 RoSPA Silver
  • 2014 RoSPA Gold
  • 2015 RoSPA Gold
  • 2016 RoSPA Gold
  • 2017 RoSPA Gold

Further proof of our aim for continuous improvement in Health & Safety was confirmed by our 2017 Achilles UVDB Verify health and safety assessment scores of 100% for both Management System Evaluation and the Onsite Assessment.  Such achievements encourage our team to sustain their efforts in the drive for zero RIDDOR reportable accidents.
