This is a new-build energy from waste plant which is under construction.

All of the painting works to the pipes was completed off site then they were transported from America to be installed on site. Following installation and welding works, CB&I Shaw Group awarded our Company a contract to bristle blast the welded areas to ST3 and apply various paint systems dependant on the pipe’s operating temperatures.

Whilst this work was being undertaken at the start of the project, the main client (Foster Wheeler/Air Products) decided that they wanted all pipework between the treated welds to be touched-up due to the amount of damage caused during transportation and installation on site.

We started the works with one supervisor and 2 operatives, but once the touch-up works were introduced we increased our squad size to one non-working supervisor and 6-8 operatives, accompanied by a NACE Level 3 Paint Inspector to complete all paint reports.
